Les cymbales HHX Evolution ont étés concues en collaboration avec le batteur Dave Weckl sur le concept de "Reponse Absolue" qui permet à chaque cymbale de délivrer toute son expressivité à tous les niveaux de jeu : du moindre effleurement, à la frappe puissante. Les HHX Evolution conservent les sonorités riches et bouillonnantes ainsi que le type de martelage des HHX standards, mais offrent une sonorité beaucoup plus expressive et plus riche en médium-aigus.

Sabian was created in 1981 in Canada by Robert Zildjian. Robert had left the Zildjian company after a disagreement with his brother Armand, but their father Avedis Zildjian III had passed on his family secrets to his two sons. This sharing of manufacturing secrets explains the proximity of certain Sabian and Zildjian series, in particular the AA and HH series which were the first 2 series originally manufactured by Sabian. Currently the AA, AAX, HH and HHX series are the foundations of all Sabian series: SBR, B8X, XSR, FRX, FRX, HH, AA, HHX, AAX, Crescent, Paragon and Artisan
